School-Life Balance

School-Life Balance

Optimize your daily routine

During your school days, ensure you have an efficient and functional daily routine in place that allows you time to punctually attend all classes, complete coursework in a timely manner and factor in rest and recovery time. A routine can help in avoiding burnouts in the long term, negative feelings associated with stress and anxiety, as well as ensure a positive attitude from great sleep quality.

At IBSW, we believe that higher education refers to more than just your academic development. It refers to your holistic growth and development as a fully functioning and productive member of society in and out of the classroom. We believe that in order for our students to perform to the best of their capabilities and have the most enriching experience possible at IBSW, maintaining a healthy “School-Life” balance is vital. Below are a few tips to help you achieve this:

Discipline yourself to adhere to your “on” and “off” hours

Building on our previous point, ensuring that you have put in place time blocks dedicated to academic work, social time, personal time etc. and being disciplined about consistently adhering to those activities during their allotted times will go a long way in aiding you towards achieving a healthy “School-life” balance. Having smaller time windows dedicated to a variety of activities will also ensure you are fully focused on the tasks at hand and thoroughly in the moment.

Approach everything with an open and curious mind

Being open to new experiences, cultures and people can also go a long way in ensuring you make the best of your experiences on and off campus. Remember to always look at all new experiences with an open mind and an opportunity to consistently ensure you are learning something new. This will ensure you enjoy all your experiences to their maximum potential and extract the most value out of each one.
