Detail:

This program provides many opportunities to enhance one’s skill in English using a wide array of conversational topics. From daily events where one encounters other English-speaking individuals, to presenting in your work place, Conversation English enhances one’s ability to communicate productively.

Through this program, you will learn words, expressions, phrases, of when, where and how to use them appropriately. Conversations are not always easy. You will be able to improve your skill and confidence making small casual conversations to important formal ones.

Conversational English allows you to learn words, expressions, phrases and idioms to use in your daily life. Speaking as often as you can, conversing whenever, wherever it may take you. Opportunities don’t happen unless you have Conversational English.

Program:

This program has three (3) levels. As non-credit, this program opens one’s stored knowledge of familiar English terms, phrases and engages them to having simple to extraordinary conversations.

Level 1

Topics Under the Sun

To complete this level, students must take at least 18 hours of program. Since it is a non-credit course, Level 1 of Conversation English offers:

  • basic introduction drills,
  • engages in familiar topics, and
  • reviews correct usage of words, phrases and expressions.

Level 2

Online Conversations

To complete this level, students must take at least 18 hours of program. Since it is a non-credit course, Level 2 of Conversation English offers:

  • formal and informal texting,
  • formal and informal emailing, and
  • chat and video conferencing

Level 3

Formal and Informal Conversations

To complete this level, students must take at least 18 hours of program. Since it is a non-credit course, Level 3 of Conversation English offers:

  • differentiating formal and informal conversations,
  • use of proper words, and
  • engaging in formal and informal conversations.

Admission:

Complete the appropriate admissions application together with the payment of the application fee.

Submit a satisfactory official TOEFL or IELTS score report if English is not your first language.

Students take a placement test to determine their level in English before they enroll in any classes. Three sections of the test covers: Reading Skills, Language Usage and Sentence Meaning.

Required level:

For those with zero to no English literacy, this program will help you build your vocabulary and fundamentals in English.

Duration:

18 hours per week (minimum) / 3 hours per day class.

This program offers 1-Week, 4-Weeks, 3-Months, 6-Months and 1-Year.

By advice and recommendation of the ESL faculty, students  may also be allowed to enroll in another English class related to their academic goals.

Qualifications:

Conversation English program is designed to help non-native speakers refresh familiar words, vocabulary, phrases and expressions to use in their daily activities. No specific level is required for this program.
